Pompeii Artebus Shuttle
The Pompeii Artebus Shuttle offers a convenient and reliable transit option for travelers exploring the ancient ruins and surrounding regional sites. As part of the broader network of Pompeii services, this shuttle connects key archaeological points to streamline your visit.
What is the Pompeii Artebus Shuttle?
The Pompeii Artebus Shuttle is a specialized transit service launched by the Archaeological Park of Pompeii to improve visitor mobility across its expanding territorial network. Operating as an official connection, the Pompeii Artebus Shuttle links the main excavations of Pompeii with the lesser-known peripheral archaeological sites, including the Antiquarium and Roman Farm at Boscoreale, the grand imperial Villas at Oplontis, and the historical estates and museum in Stabiae.
This transport solution aims to make peripheral sites accessible, ensuring that travelers can fully experience the broader cultural history of the Vesuvius region beyond the main ruins. The Pompeii Artebus Shuttle is entirely free of charge for visitors holding a valid park ticket, though boarding is subject to seat availability on each individual run. While the vehicles are equipped with convenient storage compartments designed to accommodate large pieces of luggage, it is important to note that they do not feature dedicated access for disabled passengers.
Route of the Pompeii Artebus Shuttle
The route structure of the Pompeii Artebus Shuttle is organized into three distinct, dedicated circuits designed to simplify navigation between different historical landmarks. Each route departs from strategic transit hubs to capture different geographic sectors of the extensive archaeological park network:

Shuttlebus 1 (Pompeii - Villa dei Misteri - Boscoreale)
This line begins its journey at Pompeii Piazza Esedra. It moves onward to make a brief, transit-only boarding stop at the Villa dei Misteri (Porta Ercolano). This specific stop functions strictly as a connection point to pick up travelers bound for Boscoreale; passengers cannot use it to enter the Villa of the Mysteries from the external public road, as access is only permitted from inside the main archaeological site route.
From there, the circuit travels directly to Boscoreale, dropping visitors off at the Antiquarium and the ancient Roman farm of Villa Regina.
